This year’s conference theme, "Strength in Numbers," is a celebration of a decade of data-informed progress from across our network and an opportunity to discuss our future direction. Join us for our 10th-anniversary celebration. We will look back at the evidence-informed progress we’ve made as a sector but also look forward to the pressing issues of the day. This year the event will take place at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge, MA from May 20–22, 2019.

Bill DeBaun is NCAN’s Director of Data and Evaluation. He researches and writes about college access and success programming that demonstrates significant results for students’ college enrollment and graduation rates while additionally providing technical assistance to other initiatives. Bill DeBaun leads NCAN’s Benchmarking Project, an on-going collaborative research effort with NCAN members that examines the enrollment and completion outcomes of students served by college access and success programs. The Benchmarking Project contains key demographic, service, and outcome data on more than 500,000 member-served students and provides insight into the college access and success field.

Prior to joining NCAN, Bill was a policy and advocacy associate at the Alliance for Excellent Education in Washington, DC, where he authored the white paper “Inseparable Imperatives: Equity in Education and the Future of the American Economy” and co-wrote several reports on the need for federal student aid reform. Bill has a bachelor’s degree in political science, with a minor in education studies, from American University and a master’s degree in public policy from the George Washington University.
